The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and to them He will reveal His covenant.... (Psalm 25:14)

 

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights... (Proverbs 3:11-12)

Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground and on that very same day his plans come to nothing... (Psalm 146:3-4)

In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise... God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few... So, let your "yes" be a yes and your "no" be a no - for anything more than these is from the evil one... (Proverbs 10:19; Ecclesiastes 5:2; Matthew 5:37)

 

Then a Samaritan woman came to draw water and Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” But the Samaritan woman said to Him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews have no healings with Samaritans). Then he said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here...” But then she said to him, "I have no husband". Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said I have no husband. For you have had five husbands and the one whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truely!" “Sir, I perceive that you a prophet" the woman said. "Our forefathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe Me, a time is coming and now is when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. For you worship what you do not know and we worship what we do know. God is spirit, and those who worship him must do so in Spirit and in truth..” The woman said, “I know that Messiah (who is called Christ) is returning. When he does, he will tell us all things.. ” Then Jesus said to her, “I, who speak to you am He...” (John 4:7-26)
