It is He who changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though He is surrounded by light... Nothing in all creation is hidden from Him; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account... And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness... Those who live in darkness do not come to the light lest their deeds be exposed... "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her..." But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before Him. And having lifted up, Jesus said to her, "Woman where are they who accuse you? Has no one condemned you?" “No one, Lord,” she answered. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Now go and sin no more...” (John 8:7-11)
And they came and said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are honest and do not care about anyone’s opinion. For You are not swayed by appearances, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar?" But knowing their hypocrisy, Jesus said to them, “Why do you put Me to the test? Bring Me a denarius, that I might see it...” So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” So He said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's..." (Mark 12:14-17)
