Be careful not to perform your charitable deeds before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to someone in need, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men. Truly I say to you, they already have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. A heart like His...

 

When an unclean spirit leaves a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came, but when it returns, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and it brings with itself seven other spirits more wicked than itself; and having entered in, they dwell there, such the last state of that the man is worse than his beginning... (Matthew 12:43-45)

He who digs a pit for his neighbour will fall into it and he who rolls a stone, it will roll back to him... (Proverbs 26:27)

 

But God chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; He chose the weak things to confound the mighty; He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, so that no flesh may boast in His presence... For many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name we performed many miracles...' But then I will declare to them, "I never knew you. Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness..." (Matthew 7:22-23)

 

The evil one does not mind you listening to a thousand sermons, as long as you stay away from the Body and Blood of Christ...

The danger of Lukewarm Christianity...
