But know this that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from as such turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Who O Lord may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? It is he who walks uprightly, who works righteousness and speaks the truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbour, nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. In whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honours those who fear the LORD ... He who does not put out his gain at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved... hallelujah. (Psalm 15:1-5)

"O Lord and Master of my life, grant not unto me a spirit of idleness, of discouragement, of lust for power, and of vain speaking. But bestow upon me thy servant the spirit of purity, of meekness, of patience, and of love. Yea O Lord and King, grant that I may perceive my own transgressions and judge not my brother, for blessed thou art unto ages of ages. Amen." (Prayer of St. Ephrem)
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centred. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, you may be accused of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, you may be deceived. Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway. You may give the best that you have and it may never be enough. Give the world the best you have anyway. For you see in the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway... (Blessed Theresa of Calcutta)
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation... hallelujah (Psalm 91:7-16)

He who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, shall be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew and slammed against that house and yet it did not fall - for it had been founded upon the rock. But he who hears these words of Mine and acts not on them, shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew and slammed against that house. It fell and great was its fall! (Matthew 7:24-27)
