"Too late have I loved You, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, too late I have loved You! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for You. In my unloveliness I plunged into the lovely things which You created. You were with me, but I was not with You. Created things kept me from You; yet if they had not been in You they would have not been at all. You called, You shouted, and You broke through my deafness. You flashed, You shone, and You dispelled my blindness. You breathed Your fragrance on me; I drew in breath and now I pant for You. I have tasted You, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for Your peace...”

― Saint Augustine of Hippo

Turn your eyes away from me, for they overwhelm me... (Song of Solomon 6:5)

الساكن فى ستر العلي مزمور 91 - أبونا داود لمعي

No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon... (Matthew 6:24)

"Be my friend in this world as a foreigner, and leave behind you a memorable legacy, as we are nothing in this world but guests and there is no choice for the guest in the end but to leave..." (Pope Shenouda III)

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys... Like a lily among the thorns so is my darling among the maidens... Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest so is my beloved among the young men... (Song of Solomon 2:1-3)

For what shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord... As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered..." But I consider my life of no value to me... What is more, I consider everything as loss for the surpassing knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have endured the loss of all things and I count them as nothing but rubbish, that I may gain Christ... (Romans 8:35; Romans 8:38-39; Romans 8:36; Acts 20:24; Philippians 3:8)

"When you come to appear before Me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of My courts? Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to Me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your worthless assemblies. Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all My being. They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide My eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood..." (Isaiah 1:12-15)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths... (Proverbs 3:5-6)
