Then a Samaritan woman came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” But the Samaritan woman said to Him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan. How is it that you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans). Jesus said to her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, “Give me a drink”, you would have asked Him for a drink and He would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where is it that you get this living water from? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his cattle?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks from this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give him shall never thirst but the water that I give him will become in him a well of spring water to eternal life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I may not thirst again!” Then He said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” But she said, “I have no husband.” “You have correctly said you have no husband. For you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly!” “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place to worship.” Jesus said to her “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. For you worship what you do not know but we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.” Yet a time is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking as such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (He who is called Christ) is coming. When He does, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her “I who speak to you am He.”

He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, but has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, but has sent the filled away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His covenant, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and His descendants forever. (Luke 1:51-55)

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early in the morning, to sit up late at night, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep. (Psalm 127:1-2)

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper... (Psalm 1:1-4)

You have meant it for harm, but the Lord has turned it into good... (Genesis 50:20)

Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. But the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life and there are a few who find it.... (Matthew 7:13-14)

But whoever wants to be great among you must be the least, and whoever wants to be first among you must be last.. (Matthew 20:26)

He who digs a pit will fall into it, and whoever rolls a stone, it will come back to him.. (Proverbs 26:27)

But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.. (Galatians 6:14)

For I have learned the secret of being content in every circumstance... (Philippians 4:12)

JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU.
