When an unclean spirit leaves a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came, but when it returns, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and it brings with itself seven other spirits more wicked than itself; and having entered in, they dwell there, such the last state of that the man is worse than his beginning...
